Eve began her interest in cake decorating at her grandparents’ shop- The Delishus Cake Shop – in the 1980s as a child. She assisted in preparation of goods for sale, and learnt a lot under the direction of her grandparents, German immigrants with exceptional culinary skills!

In 1988, Eve worked as a cake decorator in her mother’s shop – Celebrations Plus – eventually specialising in Wedding Cakes. Celebrations Plus later became The Cake Decorating Shop, continuing as a family-run business. During peak periods of this business, Eve would produce in excess of 100 Wedding Cakes per year, as well as hundreds of special occasion cakes.

​In 2005, Eve’s mother retired from the business, and Eve had a break from cake decorating to raise her two children. She returned in 2007 as Cakes by Eve – producing tailor made cakes from her custom-built, Council approved home kitchen.
